What SEO does (and does not do)
Organic search optimisation means helping search engines understand your site and answer the questions of your future customers. It takes time: results are measured in months, not days. Nobody can guarantee a first place.
The technical and editorial fundamentals
| Element | Good practice |
|---|---|
| Title tag | Unique per page, clear, with the main subject and the brand (about 60 characters) |
| Meta description | One or two sentences that make people want to click (about 150 characters) |
| H1 to H3 headings | A single H1 per page, H2s for sections, H3s for details |
| URL | Short, readable, with keywords (/blog/how-to-choose-a-brand-name) |
| Images | Descriptive alt text, dimensions set, lightweight formats |
| Internal links | Link related pages and articles with explicit anchors |
| Mobile and speed | Site suited to small screens, fast loading |
| Sitemap and robots.txt | Help robots find your pages |
The role of the blog
A blog lets you answer the specific questions your customers type into a search engine (“how to choose a brand name”, “which logo format”) and establish your expertise. A few principles:
- One query, one article: each page targets a clear intent.
- Useful content before optimised content: examples, lists, tables, direct answers.
- A regular structure: contents, H2 sections, frequently asked questions, sources.
- Links between articles to guide the reader and the robots.
- Updates when the information changes.
Structured data
schema.org markup (in JSON-LD format) describes the content to search engines: article, breadcrumb, frequently asked questions, organisation. It can allow rich results display, with no guarantee. The articles of this blog use it.
First create a clear identity, then publish: your site gains credibility from the very first visit.
Create my brandFrequently asked questions
How long before seeing SEO results?
Often several months. The first signals (indexed pages, first queries) arrive earlier, but traffic builds over time.
Do you need a blog to rank well?
It is not mandatory, but it is one of the most effective ways to answer specific questions and gain visibility on keywords the home page does not target.
Does structured data improve ranking?
It helps search engines understand the page and can give a rich display, but it does not guarantee a better ranking.
